Therapy Interventions
Tailored to Your Needs
I work from a variety of evidence-based therapy approaches. It is pretty common to have one session look different from another. The majority of my practice is guided by:
-
Play Therapy: Directive (therapist leads) & Non-directive (child leads), which helps children express emotions and developing coping strategies through play activities
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an approach effective for processing trauma, but is also effective with other disorders such as anxiety, depression and OCD
-
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy),which helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns
-
Somatic Experiencing, which focuses on the mind-body connection to support healing - I am currently a SE Practitioner in-training at the Advanced level.
I also have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Structural Family Therapy.
