About Lisa
Welcome to my Practice!
Hello! I’m Lisa Scarth (she/her), a Denver-based mental health therapist specializing in children, teens, young adults, and families. I have dedicated my career to supporting young people because they reflect the health of our community—and they are really fun to work with.
Life can be challenging, especially for those still developing their tools and resources. Everyday stress, transitions, major life events and traumatic experiences can cause havoc on the mental well-being of a young person. When young people are not able to express their thoughts and feelings safely, it can affect mood and behavior, as well as the ability to fully engage in school, activities, work and relationships.
I believe that with the right support, anyone can move toward healing. My work centers on treating the whole person by creating a safe, developmentally appropriate space where clients can explore and express themselves in the way that makes most sense for them and their needs.
A little bit about me:
I am a Colorado native who briefly lived in Utah before returning home. I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Regis University and an MSW from the University of Denver. For the past twelve years, I’ve worked with Denver Health Pediatrics in Denver Public Schools, providing therapy to students in a school‑based clinic. I also volunteer with Denver Health’s Forensic Asylum Program, conducting forensic mental health evaluations.
I’m married, a mom to three grown kids, and have been attached to some dogs along the way. I enjoy taking advantage of all the adventures Colorado has to offer, but I’m happiest reading or spending time outdoors—ideally both at the same time.
